The Women in Skilled Trades and Information Technology Training program provides training for women in communities where skilled trades and IT workers are needed. It offers gender sensitive in-class and on-the-job training to women with low incomes who are unemployed or underemployed and helps them prepare for jobs. Quick Start in Construction is a new program that prepares those who want to work in construction trades to get ready with basic requirements. Next cohort starts 

Trade School Programs Find skilled trade certificate and license training programs that take six weeks to one year to complete. Two year associate and four year bachelor’s degree programs in the skilled trade and technical fields are also available. The Central Ontario Building Trades (COBT) and our affiliates established Hammer Heads to assist under-resourced and Aboriginal youth by linking them to registered apprenticeship opportunities in the skilled construction trades which might not otherwise be accessible.
