Oil well processing facilities
Oil sands recovery involves use of massive quantities if steam to release the oil from the sands. A recovery well then removes the oil, steam, water mixture for further processing at the surface. Extra heavy oil is a dense, low API gravity (less than 10°) and viscous oil that has a high content of asphaltenes, The well is drilled by a moveable rig and the extracted oil and natural gas is transported by undersea pipeline and riser to a processing facility. This allows one strategically placed production platform to service many wells over a reasonably large area. Blackrod SAGD Pilot Plant. Equinox executed both the FEED and the Detailed Design for this 600 bpd, single wellpair SAGD Pilot Plant. The Central Processing Facility (CFP) includes production facilities, produced water de-oiling, source well water and treatment facilities, steam generation, storage tanks, flare system, fuel gas system, glycol system, utilities and support buildings. Our crude oil treatment technologies include multiphase separation systems, dehydration and desalting electrostatic treaters, and distillate treaters. Surface Facilities Function Surface facilities function can be described as : Extraction : Facilities to extract oil & gas from the reservoir into surface in a safe and controlled manner. Processing : Facilities to process “raw oil & gas / well stream” into “treated” crude oil and/or natural gas as per customer requirement. Most shale oil wells need artificial lift to produce the wells Gas lift is a common method of artificial lift High pressure gas stream is injected into well bottom Assists in driving produced water/oil to the surface Single Well Site Iift gas compression Plus: uses HPS gas compressed by pad compressors Water Injection Wells Water injection or water flooding refers to the method in the oil industry where water is injected into the reservoir, usually to increase pressure and thereby stimulate production. Water injection wells can be found both on- and offshore, to increase oil recovery from an existing reservoir. Water injection Program is achieved by drilling a water well (Source) and water Injector well (Receiver) to increase the pressure & the production of a certain well.
25 Sep 2013 Raw natural gas comes from three types of wells: oil wells, gas wells, and The extracted natural gas is transported to these processing plants
The emphasis of this course is on oil production facilities - from the wellhead, to the delivery of a specification crude oil product, to the refinery. Both onshore and offshore facilities are discussed. Produced water treating and water injection systems are also covered. Video from the Plant Engineering and Design Foundations MOOC from InIPED. Enroll for free at iniped.com/mooc. Today the associated gas will be treated, in the same way as raw natural gas coming from non-associated gas, in a dedicated gas central processing facility. The gas CPF will separate the methane from the other gases, condensate , sulfur, hydrogen, carbon monoxide, CO2 , etc… Oil sands recovery involves use of massive quantities if steam to release the oil from the sands. This project involved installing pipelines to connect several dozen oil wells scattered a utility well, a raw water treatment facility as a part of infrastructures, etc. Typical oil well production fluids are a mixture of oil, gas and produced water. 12 Feb 2018 process, streamlined coordination, and data sharing among agencies. Oil and Gas Strike Team found that six of the 15 facilities had wells or
There are over 1.1 million active oil & gas wells in the U.S. This map includes both production wells, to natural gas compressor stations, to processing plants. Pipeline, gathering: A pipeline that conveys gas from a production well/field to a gas processing plant or transmission pipeline for eventual delivery to end-use

Oil and gas drilling is a complex process, but what you see on the road can tell you a lot about what is happening at nearby well pads & facilities. Typical Production Sequence 1. Onshore petroleum and natural gas gathering and boosting means gathering pipelines and other equipment used to collect petroleum and/or natural gas from onshore production wells and to compress and transport gas to a natural gas processing facility, transmission pipeline, or a distribution pipeline.
